Dream = Over?

July 24, 2006

After getting benched for our final two games tonight in the Michigan Classics co-ed softball league (average age, 43.7 years old), I can’t help but think my dream of playing for the Minnesota Twins someday is over…

    I’m kind of like the Ryan Leaf of softball. Athletically, I have all the tools. Mentally, I kind of suck….

    Were they “must win” games so they benched the biggest loser? ZING!!!

    If by “must win” you mean the playoffs/championship, then yes.

    I’m the anonymous one. I was accidentally not logged in. Your story just reminded me of back in the days when I would get benched during big games or tournament championships. 🙁

    So…your team was the Bashers?

    We were the Blue Streaks

    The other team was Emergency Medicine, which was like playing against Mr. Burns’ Softball team. In fact, I think their center fielder was Ken Griffey Sr.
